Cuomo ends finger-print requirement for food stamp applicants in NY

New York State is among a handful of states that has taken every beneficial option that the U.S. Department of Agriculture has given to enhance participation in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (a.k.a. the Food Stamp Program).   Earlier, this year Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that the state will also end the finger-print requirement for food stamp applicants and recipients.  By eliminating the finger-image requirement, another barrier to participation will be lifted.
