On September 3, 2015, the STOP CREDIT DISRIMINATION IN EMPLOYMENT ACT took effect, prohibiting most employers from checking applicants’ credit history to determine job worthiness. The Commission is conducting trainings to educate all individuals who could potentially be affected by this law.
The Know Your Rights trainings are geared towards individuals who may face discrimination based on credit history, i.e. job seekers. Service providers who work with job seekers are also encouraged to attend.
The Know Your Obligations trainings are geared towards employers.
These training sessions are being offered from September 2nd, 2015 to September 22nd, 2015.
